Automatically Send Lead Capture Information To Your MailChimp List

The Guidearama Resource Marketing platform enables businesses to automatically grow their MailChimp mailing list. Guidearama Landing Pages can capture leads in exchange for access to Marketing Resources. This lead information can be sent by Guidearama to a MailChimp list of choice. The lead information passed to MailChimp also includes information on the Marketing Resources that the user has accessed, last item requested and the date of the last request. This extended information allows the business to improve segmentation of their outbound campaigns.

Connect your Guide-a-rama Account to your MailChimp Account

Follow these step-by-step instructions to link your Guidearama Account to a MailChimp Mailing List

  • Log into your MailChimp account or create a new account.
  • In MailChimp, create a new blank list to use with Guidearama. We suggest a fresh list because once the API is linked, Guidearama will add new fields automatically to your MailChimp list.
  • Click on your user name, then click "Account Settings."
  • Click on Extras and select "API keys."
  • Click the "Create a Key" button.
  • Copy the API key to your clipboard.
  • Log into your Account.
  • Click on the "Leadshelf" link at the top of the page.
  • In the section titled "Lead Settings", check the box for "Add New Leads to MailChimp" and then paste your API key in the field provided. Click outside of the field on the page and Guidearama will validate your key and retrieve your available mailing lists.
  • Select the list you want Guidearama to use from the available drop down.
  • Click the "Save Lead Settings" button.

Guidearama Lead Fields Added to the MailChimp List

Once the MailChimp API is connected and verified, Guidearama will add a few fields to the MailChimp list automatically. These fields include:

  • E-mail Address, First Name & Last Name - as entered on the Guidearama Lead Capture form.
  • Last Subscribed Asset - this is the name of the most recent asset the user has requested to access.
  • Last Subscription Date - this is the date stamp of the most recent request to gain access to a resource. This helps you determine the last time the user was active.
  • Guidearama Assets - this field is a list of all the different marketing resource assets that this e-mail address had requested. This field is updated every time a the user requests a new resource. This helps you identify users who are engaged with multiple activities and improve your outbound campaign segmentation and sales lead identification.
  • Please note that custom fields setup in Guidearama lead capture forms are not passed into MailChimp.

Segmenting Outbound Campaigns with MailChimp

Guidearama is passing additional information about the users every time a new resource asset is requested.
